Some important bookplate collections of the past belong to Public Libraries or Museums. Many of these collections around the world don't have a printed catalogue, hand lists being the most commonly available for researchers. And worst of all, in this era of the Internet the vast majority of Libraries do not have even an on-line reference to their bookplate collections.

Those who cared to do it, mainly in the U.S.A., as it can be seen from the list of links below, either simply refer the collection with a minor description or, at the best, provide an on-line catalogue and in a few cases also an on-line gallery of the bookplates.

These collection of links to public hold Bookplate Collections is a tribute to the Librarians and to other people involved in the posting of this valuable data and information at the Internet.

It is intended to those bookplate lovers and curious minds who might be tempted to visit these Libraries if they live nearby and have the will and spare time to do it.
